Tickets From Aarey
When Aarey Forest was marked for destruction to make way for the Metro III car shed, despite public outcry and alternative options, the Aarey Conservation Group turned protest into powerful symbolism.
We created ‘Tickets From Aarey’—proposed metro station names etched onto dead Aarey leaves. Each leaf was sent to influencers and shared online, showing the real cost of cutting down a forest.
The response was massive. #SaveAareyForest trended, protests surged, and national media took notice. Within days, the Supreme Court issued a stay, the government relocated the car shed, and Aarey was declared a reserve forest. The Environment Minister awarded the campaign, proving that while our tickets were free, they made people see what was truly priceless.
